Robyn is the owner of four retail stores (Red Mo Haircutters) located in major shopping centres on the Gold Coast, employing up to twenty staff, giving her insight and skills in the small business arena. Robyn is also a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) and Marriage Celebrant.
Community wise, Robyn has held various roles on “Not for Profit” Boards from the early 1970’s to her current term with Liberty Community Connect – Livin’ Well. She is very familiar with the duties and responsibilities of a committee member, having held the roles of both Secretary and Committee Member over the last six years. In recent times she has been invited to also be involved in new community initiatives addressing Domestic and Family Violence in our society.
In 1991 Robyn was awarded the Australia Day “Citizen of the Year” Award for her contribution to community services in the Cardwell Shire, establishing a Community Support Centre in that Far North Queensland region. In her role as the founding chairman, Robyn applied for and received funding for 11+ programs from various Government Departments including, but not limited to, Department of Housing, Family and Welfare Services, Department of Health and Housing and Community Services, which provided housing for youth, a childcare centre (a first for the region), home maintenance service for the frail, aged and disabled and many other community services.
Robyn is passionate and committed to sharing her knowledge, skills and experience on the Liberty Management Committee.
