Beth semi-retired in January 2020 having worked in health and senior living management throughout her career spanning 45 years. Commencing as Secretary to a community-based hospital Board in South Australia and, working with the then Chairman of the Health Commission, oversaw the implementation of community based advisory boards, disabled workshops, and expansion of health services in regional areas.
Relocating to Queensland in the mid 1980’s Beth joined TriCare including taking up the role of editor of its company based aged care publication – TriTalk for 2 years prior to becoming the inaugural Village Manager for Mt. Gravatt Retirement Village and subsequently TriCare’s Retirement Living Division Manager. An ‘indulgent sabbatical’ saw Beth join her husband in establishing his business in electronics – a successful venture, which for Beth lasted 8 years prior to her being enticed to return to TriCare to manage their newly acquired Runaway Bay Retirement Village and ultimately return to the role of TriCare’s Retirement Living Divisional Manager.
In 2015 Beth joined not-for-profit Churches of Christ as General Manager for retirement living a position held for 3 years, assuming the position of Retirement Living Advisor during the two years prior to retirement.
Beth embraces a “Continuous Improvement” philosophy with a commitment to ensuring a high standard is maintained across all areas of an organisations operations thereby guaranteeing a safe, consistent lifestyle for all clients. A four year directorship on the Board of Beaudesert’s Star Gardens Aged Care facility, Chairmanship of LASA (formally ACQ) Retirement Living Committee and the National Accreditation Committee together with active participation in the Property Council’s retirement living group, various community liaison groups; retirement village act reviews; leadership and/or presentation at numerous industry workshops and ‘chairing’ various ad hoc committees has provided an extensive knowledge base.
